Location: Morro Rock, Morro Bay, California, Map
We were on a family trip to the central coast of California when I sneaked out early on one of the days to do some sunrise photography at this location. The sun has a glancing angle during this time of the year (Feb) and creates wonderful display of light and dark on the rock face.
As always, it's great fun to stand in cold waters, let the waves go past and wait for that perfect reflection in the sand.
The rock is called Morro Rock, it's a plug of an extinct volcano.
